How much does therapy cost?

Therapy costs vary based on factors like session length, therapist’s licensure level, geographic location, therapy approach, insurance coverage, sliding scale fees, and additional services. It’s important to discuss fees and payment options with your therapist upfront and inquire about insurance coverage to make informed decisions about therapy options. If financial concerns arise, don’t hesitate to discuss them with your therapist to explore possible solutions.

We offer free phone consultations. During this phone call one of our staff members will explore your needs, provide information about our services, and answer any questions you might have.

What should I expect for my first appointment?

An intake appointment, also known as an initial assessment, is the first meeting between you and your mental health therapist. During this session, you can expect the following:

  1. Paperwork: You may be asked to complete paperwork, including intake forms, consent forms, and demographic information, either online or in the therapist’s office before the session.
  2. Discussion of Concerns: The therapist will inquire about your reasons for seeking therapy, your current symptoms or concerns, and any relevant background information about your personal history, family, relationships, and medical history.
  3. Goal Setting: Together with the therapist, you’ll discuss your therapy goals and what you hope to achieve through therapy. This helps the therapist understand your needs and tailor the treatment plan to address your specific concerns.
  4. Assessment: The therapist may conduct a clinical assessment, which may involve asking questions to gather more information about your mental health symptoms, functioning, and overall well-being. This assessment helps the therapist formulate a diagnosis (if applicable) and develop an appropriate treatment plan.
  5. Logistics: You’ll discuss logistical details such as session frequency, duration, confidentiality, fees, insurance coverage, and scheduling future appointments.
  6. Collaboration: Intake appointments are collaborative, and it’s essential to communicate openly and honestly with your therapist. You’re encouraged to ask questions, share your thoughts and feelings, and actively participate in developing your treatment plan.
